Here's the story of how I became such a big part of my couples' big days!
Hey, I’m Eddy – a passionate and fun Brunswick West (Melbourne) based wedding celebrant, DJ and MC!
Music has always been a huge part of my life and I love pretty much all all genres (except for country, soz!). Weddings are the best types of parties as you often have people from many walks of life, meaning you can spin a variety of awesome tunes.
I work very closely with my couples and tailor my DJ sets to them and the guests dancing in front of me. You can have a listen to my DJ mixes, including real live wedding set recordings!
Why did I become a celebrant? Well, I’ve always been very curious about peoples’ stories and really enjoy writing.
Through me and my partner’s wedding DJ business, One More Song, I’ve been able to live out my passion of music and getting to know some really awesome couples. Now as a celebrant, I get to tell your story, have you legally married (woo!), get that party started and ensure that there are plenty of sore feet at the end of the night!
Fun facts about me!
I was named after a rock star! 🧑🎤
My dad (and rocker from back in the day) named me after his all time fave glam rock guitarist, Edward Van Halen (of the 80s rock band of the same name). Could be the reason I’ve always loved music…
I’m a cat person. 😻
Although I love all animals, I’m a certified cat person! I have a cheeky little moggy called Khaleesi, who’s a rescue and rules our household.
I studied law at uni. 🧑⚖
I spent a whopping six years (much of it living on campus) at uni studying a double degree in Law and Business. Even though I was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor at the end of my studies, I couldn’t bear the thought of keeping up with all those billable hours. So, naturally, I chose to be a professional DJ instead. 🫠
My all time fave musical group is Daft Punk. 🤖
Dance music has been a huge part of my life and I fell in love with Daft Punk at an early age. One of my biggest regrets in life is not attending their Alive 2007 tour, which was unfortunately the last time they came to Australia (and have subsequently disbanded). 😥
I’m a geek. 🎮
Don’t let the beard and tattoos fool you, I am a geek! When I’m not working on the business or playing at weddings, I’m picking up a controller, grabbing some power-ups and saving the world. I am a huge Halo and Legend of Zelda fanboy and occasionally break out the Pokemon Trading Card Game to relive my childhood (the nostalgia is real).
Where it all started!
Here I am with my partner in life and biz, Aleks Mac! We run our wedding DJ business One More Song DJs together and co-host a fun wedding podcast, Project Engaged!
We work really well together and count ourselves really lucky to do what we do!
